The first element is Title Tags. Title Tags tell search engines what each page is about; so in this case it’s important to add the main keyword you want to target on that page, in the title tag.
The second element is Headers or Htags. A website page could have maximum 6 header types (h1 to h6).
Let’s take an example: we will breakdown a blog about back pain, and the title of the blog is, 5 home remedies to relieve your back pain.
As H1 is the main title of a page, the H1 should be in this case: 5 home remedies to relieve your back pain
The first H2 for example would be, apply cold packs.
The second H2 would be, apply heat pads.
The third H2 would be, sleep on your side.
The H2 tags as I just mentioned in the examples, would be the 5 remedies the blog is about.
The H3 tags would be in this example the steps of the H2 tags.
So, in this example, under the H2, apply cold packs, the H3 tags would be:
- ensure the cold packs are below 0 degree celcius
- place a soft cloth between your skin and the pack
- place the pack for 10 minutes on and then 20 min off
And the list goes on.
Now, under these H3 tags, H4, H5, and H6 could be added if the structure of your article is created in such a way.
By creating the right header structure on your pages, search engines reward you for such a behavior.
You can download chrome extensions to quickly see your headers and tags for each of your pages. I recommend an easy and free one to use called SEO META in 1 CLICK.
The third element is content density. The more content you have on your page, the more search engines like it. Of course it has to be high quality content. If you google search home remedies for back pain, google ranks pages that offer high quality content, and most of the time these pages offer in-depth information with 1000s of words, images, videos, infographics and so on.
And when you write long copy with the right headers structures, google will reward you.
And when you write long copy, you have to the opportunity to include more of your targeted keyword or keywords.
Good to stick to about 2% keyword density. So if you write a 1000 words page, you can repeat the target keywords about 20 times. The point is; don’t over do it and repeat the keyword a zillion times. Search engines can actually penalize you for such a behavior.
