Objective:

Establish Mövenpick as a resident brand in the UAE and as the top choice for hotels amongst residents and tourists alike

Challenge:

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts had limited social media presence; the brand hadn’t activated any signficant campaigns to connect to their existing and new audience

Strategy & Execution:

  • The Igloo team studied several options to connect users to UAE and Mövenpick in one message. Together with Mövenpick management, we decided to implement a social media campaign showcasing UAE’s unique historical and tourist spots, by asking targeted users to share photos they clicked of their favorite places
  • The strategy behind was to engage users with a contest that would drive user generated content through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram where users can either post a photo on Mövenpick’s respective social media pages with predefined hashtags, or upload it on their own profile with predefined hashtags
  • We asked the audience to share a photo that truly captures the spirit of UAE, so they could stand a chance to win a 2 free night stay for 2, at a Mövenpick hotel of their choice anywhere in the UAE
